Rollerblade Twister vs Powerslide Imperial (Including Differences, Pros & Cons)

Always a pleasure to leave a review on different skates for you guys. So, after I got involved with inline skating, I began exploring several types of inline skates based on the tons of requests I get.

The powerslide imperial review was really requested for so I decided to try them out and leave a review for you guys.

In this blog , I’ll be comparing them with the rollerblade twister skates. Although I have already talked about the rollerblade twister earlier in one of my blog posts, I couldn’t pick a worthier skate to compare the powerslide imperial skates with.

In this blog post, I’ll be throwing more light on the powerslide imperial. Enough to let you understand its features properly.

The first thing I noticed about the powerslide imperial was how light-weight they are when compared to the powerslide next. I really enjoyed using the skates because not only are they drop dead-gorgeous, but it took me less than three weeks to break them in completely- I didn’t even experience any blisters while using the powerslide imperial skates.

For me, picking the difference between the Rollerblade twister skates and the powerslide imperial was a real struggle. They look almost alike, but I’ll still have to give you guys something at least.

The major difference between the rollerblade twister and the powerslide imperial is that you’ll definitely get a different feel from both. Although they are both lightweight skates, the powerslide imperial is a lot more lightweight than the Rollerblade twister.

Another difference I noticed between the two is how fast the powerslide imperial skates were. If you are a fast skater, they would be an ideal pick for you. In speed and agility, the powerslide imperial definitely comes first before the Rollerblade twister.

What Are Rollerblade Twister?

In the last review, I gave about the rollerblade twister, I mentioned how lightweight they were when compared to the powerslide next. However, in this case of comparison, they are not the same.

The powerslide imperial is on another level of light-weight when compared to the rollerblade twister skates. However, regardless of this fact, the rollerblade twister skates are still considered lightweight.

They come with an ILQ Z bearings which some skaters consider okay for speed. Although they are on the fast side as well, they are not an ideal pick for fast skaters. For me on the other hand, I loved these skates. I’m not so much of a fast skater so they settled in just fine. If you’re a versatile skater just like me, they would be an awesome pick to skate with.

I was comfortable with the frame it came with. On a personal level, I don’t really enjoy skating with skates that are made with plastic blocks. The rollerblade twister comes with an aluminum block attached to them. Because of this, they would do justice for you if you are an aggressive skater.

The liners are also great and one thing I love about them is the air vents they come with to allow airto  pass through your toes while skating. It keeps your feet from gathering moisture and sweat. They also lasted a really long time for me and that made me happy. In fact, they are still very much intact right now.

Although the lacing system it came with is cool, I didn’t really like them because I couldn’t easily pull out my liners without having to loosen the laces ( we all know how much I hate lacing my skates, it’s a real drag for me). Everything else apart from that was fine.

What Are Powerslide Imperial?

These are some of the best skates I’ve used yet. Out of all the inline skates I own this one comes first.

The first time I tried them out, I was a bit skeptical about them. The shop attendant where I bought them from encouraged me to take them. He said and I quote

“Those are incredible skates and definitely a keeper, you should buy them”

I’ve heard rumors about liners growing with your feet. I didn’t believe them until I bought the powerslide imperial. If they seem a bit tight at the onset, with time you will grow into them. They are also baking friendly. I recommend throwing them in the oven at about 180 degrees temperature. Allow them to stay for about 8 minutes, put on your socks, and then your skates wait for 5 minutes before you begin skating.

I repeated this process a few times for two weeks and my powerslide imperial skates were broken-in no time.

It comes with a really solid shell and the perfect liners (couldn’t stop telling my friends about these amazing liners. The shell and the liners together make the most comfortable skates ever worn in my entire period of skating. It has a tight grip on the ankle so you’re definitely sure of its balance.

My powerslide imperial wheels were the bomb guys. I really enjoyed using them because of how fast I could. I now realize why there is a huge demand for a braking system for the powerslide imperial. I honestly couldn’t stop on my own sometimes it was a scary and thrilling experience. But, definitely, with time I will grow into the speed of these skates. Generally, the powerslide imperial comes with big wheels (usually three) but if you are not a fan of these wheels, they can be upgraded to suit your taste.

If you are a speed skater, you should look into getting yourself a pair of powerslide imperial.

Just like the rollerblade twister, it comes with a 45 degrees buckle strap for better support and rigidity on the ankles. The boots are built with side protectors to ensure that the surface of your boots is secure while you are skating.

Why Should You Buy Rollerblade Twister or Powerslide Imperial?

I always search for the best skates when it comes to inline skating mainly because I am still struggling with balancing properly on inline skates.

However, I strongly recommend the rollerblade twister skates and the powerslide imperial if you are on the hunt for inline skates that provide a firm grip and balance.

They feel super comfortable and you can use them for a long time because if how lightweight they are especially the powerslide imperial.

You should buy the powerslide imperial if you are a cross trainer and a speed skater. Although I wouldn’t really recommend these skates for beginners because of the cost. They are quite on the expensive side and unless you have money to invest in proper skates, you should consider buying cheaper ones as a rookie-level skater.

The rollerblade twister skates will be an ideal pick for versatile skaters. The skates provide versatility and you can easily try out different skill set techniques using these skates.

Rollerblade Twister vs Powerslide Imperial Differences

There aren’t really many differences between the rollerblade twister and the powerslide imperial. However, the one thing you can’t miss is the speed. When it comes to speed the powerslide imperial is faster than the rollerblade twister by far. If you’re not used to speeding, you might want to slow down while using these babies. Or better still, get brakes for them.

I think the powerslide imperial will be a good pick for aggressive skaters (always make use of your protective gear guys) it is quite stronger and last longer than the rollerblade twister skates. However, I am not an aggressive skater and you may feel that the powerslide imperial are not for aggressive skaters. But there’s only one way to find out.

The liners on the powerslide imperial do not come with air vents like the rollerblade twister. So you may likely feel a tad bit sweaty down there, after skating for long miles.

Coming down t the bearings, the rollerblade twister makes use of an ILQ Z bearing which is great while the powerslide imperial comes with an ABEC 9 wicked bearing. You can also switch them up to a better bearing if you feel they are not doing what you want. But the ABEC 9 bearings go really fast in the powerslide imperial.

Rollerblade Twister vs Powerslide Imperial Pros

I did enjoy using these skates a lot especially the powerslide imperial because I was able to experience what fast skating felt like. One of the advantages of buying a rollerblade twister I forgot to mention is that they come with an amazing warranty, so you’ll want to jump on that if I were you. Top 3 Rollerblade Twister

I felt that this review wouldn’t be complete if I didn’t give you guys my top pick in the rollerblade twister skates.

Top 3 Powerslide Imperial

  2. Powerslide Imperial Supercruiser 110 EU (Amazon Link)

How to Make Your Decision?

  1. The first thing you want to do is check your budget for the skates. I’ll advise going for the rollerblade twister if you’re on a budget but still looking to invest in great slides.
  2. Ensure that you go through the size chart while picking out your skates in other not to go for a size smaller or a size bigger by mistake.
  3. Determine what you want to use the skates for and ask your local provider which skates will perform a better job for what you have in mind. He or she might go further to recommend an entirely different skate from these two and that is fine.
  4. Weigh the differences and check which one suit you better in speed, balance, agility, and endurance.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the powerslide imperial and the rollerblade twister are both great skates for outdoor and indoor use. Although you’ll get a better feel and experience with these skates if you use them outside.
