Are Vans Just for Skaters?

I honestly never knew vans produced skates. I have tons of vans shoes and the make a great pair of shoes for different activities.

Recently, I got to find out that vans were originally created to produce van skate shoes. I feel so stupid for not knowing this.. Lol. Butttt, we learn every day (don’t come for me)

So, for clarity’s sake, NO, Vans are not just for skaters. And yes you can wear vans out for other occasions that do not involve skating.

Vans have gone out of their way to produce various types of foot wears such as slides, running shoes, fashion and also skating. So if you’re a non skater you can jump on any of the available products.

One of the reason I love vans products in general is because of young they make you feel. Even if you’re an older person, once you get fitted up with Vans product, there’s this sense of youthfulness that comes with having vans on your feet.

Anyways, I went further to get myself a pair of vans skates, and I must confess, they are also a great pick for skates. If you’re looking to try them out, you have my full support.

Why do skaters wear vans?

First of all, I bought one of the vans skates simply because I wanted to leave a review for you guys since I got a lot questions about the vans skates.

Personally, I enjoyed using the vans shoes because of the firm grip and ankle support they gave me. They felt almost like inline skates.  Skate boarders also like to wear vans shoes while skating because of the grip it has. It’s a combination of comfort, grip, durability, heavy duty, etc to mention but a few.

If you check out the features of the earlier vans and probably most of the new release, you’ll understand why skaters are so crazy about it. I mean why shouldn’t they?

Vans are produced with strong soles for heavy duty and intense skating, has premium resistance to wear and tear. Because of this, vans shoes are always a good pick for rainy and sunny days. They thrive in all weather conditions and have a record of standing the test of time.

I can attest to this because I have used vans shoes and they always last way longer than I expect them too. Almost all my vans shoes are still fit and sound for everyday use.

Skaters also like to make use of vans shoes while skating because most of them come with added padded collars to protect exposed skin while skating.

They are also a great pick for skating content creators because of the warm feel they leave of on your feet. You also get to carry out techniques with so much ease. You can now understand why so many TikTokers and YouTubers make use of vans to skate.

Aside from the whole skate board experience, vans also produce actual roller skates which are also a great pick for skaters of different levels. The company is so popular, that almost everybody has a pair of vans shoe in their closet.

I dunno guys, but I think I may have fallen totally in love with vans shoes, home and abroad. If I knew they produced roller skates in the beginning stage of my skating journey, I would have started with them.  These babies are literally worth every hype and cent you spent on buying them.

It’s not shocking to see that vans is currently the favorite of many skaters, especially if you’re into art. If you’re looking for skating shoes which you can try out different experiments on, they are the perfect pick. I literally could go on and on about vans fit, but oh well. Let’s get into the second phase of the blog!

Should I wear Vans while skating?

I’d say yes, simply based on a personal experience with vans while skating. But, the option of whether vans is good or bad or if you should wear it while skating lies solely on you.

I’ll explain.

I may feel great about vans, but it may be a completely opposite experience for you. I mean everybody has their preferences and what you look out for in their shoes, roller skates and generally every single thing you spend your money on.

Nothing is perfect, so every good thing comes with its share of disadvantages as well as advantages.  So, if you’re a neat freak, skating with vans may be a problem for you because they tend to get dirty and stained faster. And as time goes on stains may become very hard to wash of and this may be an eye-sore for you. This is currently one of the disadvantages of making use of vans to skates.

But if you don’t mind the stains, you can carry on in getting them for you.

Also, they are quite uncomfortable for people with thicker and fuller feet as these shoes and roller skates have a slender look. This is also a valid point not to go for the vans shoes. But again, if you don’t mind…..

Now, you should know that although vans make their shoes with premium quality leather, they are not water proof and in the case of rain, your feet will get soaked for sure.

You also want to keep in mind that regardless of the comfort, they don’t have cushioning properties and spec, so I kid you not when I say you will feel everything you run over, even the tiniest stones you thought was nothing shall be felt! So if this is not something you like when you’re skating, they may not be an ideal pick for you.

Butt, I love my vans mainly because of the quality. It’s even shocking how relatively cheap they are and supper affordable. You don’t need to break the bank to get good vans for you.

So, should you buy vans for skating? This is totally up to you and your preferences.

Conclusion

I hope I answered your all your questions and cleared up all the doubts you had about getting Vans.

However, if you feel it’s not something you’d like or you don’t enjoy using it at all, that’s totally fine, no pressure!
