MUST READ: Impala Skates Controversy History

While I was away I got a few emails and comments about the impala skates, they were quite a lot of request on it so I decided to go on an “impala skate series” blog to answer any questions you have.

In this blog I’ll be giving you guys my thoughts on whether or not impala skates are good for outdoors. Don’t go anywhere!

Based on personal experience, I think impala skates are excellent skates for outdoor skating as a beginner. Their wheels do fine outdoor, especially if you are a beginners. You will slightly feel that cracks, pebbles and leafs but nothing that will keep you off balance. For more advance skaters, I would recommend wheels that are dedicated for outdoors. You will notice the difference right away with dedicated outdoor wheels. Check out my quick fact sheet and best practices to help you understand the type of outdoors wheels needed.

Can i use my impala skates outside?

Yes! You can. The impala skates come with hybrid wheels which is suitable for both outdoor and indoor skating- just in case you’re feeling under the weather and would prefer to skate indoors or you’re fully energized and ready to skate through the rinks or wherever you find interesting outside, they make the perfect skates.

I noticed that while they are an awesome choice for outdoor skating, they also didn’t need breaking in. I bought a quad leopard set and they fit perfectly. Unlike most skates that would require you to use them a couple of times before it breaks in. I highly recommend the impala skates if you’re looking for a good outdoor skates.  Plus they are extremely affordable compared to other brands on the market.

Should I replace the existing impala wheels for outdoor riding?

Not necessarily, impala skates come with an aluminum plate, hybrid indoor-outdoor wheels, and a fixed toe-stop. Now unless you’re an advanced skater, looking to invest in wheels way stronger and firmer on the ground, especially if you dance while skating or have special skills you usually perform, changing your existing impala wheels is far from necessary.  For dance, you want wheels with virtually no grip (103A). This makes it easier to glide your wheel when dancing.

For impala wheels, the wheels they come with are already the right fit for outdoor skating. If you go through review articles, tons of people can testify to this, myself included.

So spare yourself the trouble of searching for new wheels when you already have wonderful ones for your outdoor adventures.

Are moxi outdoor wheels better than impala outdoor wheels?

Impala is mostly designed for new users. As a result, there isn’t a line only for professionals.

Experts can use these skates without a doubt, but they will discover that it doesn’t aid in flexibility and maneuverability as much as they would like.

Moxi wheels, however, has a wider coverage area. As a result, more experienced skaters have a variety of possibilities. The Moxi Lolly series is a particularly wise purchase in this case.

Although the stability is adequate for novices, the wheels do aid in maneuverability. Additionally, the entire layout encourages prolonged practice.

MUST READ: Can I Put Moxi Wheels on Impala Skates?

In this situation, Moxi wheels easily prevail over impala wheels .For skilled skaters, it offers a variety of alternatives and can satisfy different needs.

Check out my cousins Moxi Gummies wheels which she says are much shorter and less wide, which feels more stable.

These skates are gorgeous. The rich purples and blues looks great! Gummies are wider and softer than the impala stock and it makes a big difference on outdoor roads and sidewalks.

Can I use another brand of wheels on my impala skates?

Yes, this is very much possible. I do it all the time when my wheels are getting worn out and I’ve not had the time to order a replacement or just get a new pair, as the case may be.

For instance, Moxi wheels can be mounted on Impala skates.

Moxi wheels will fit with Impala skates because both brands of skates are for beginners and have comparable wheel designs.

The same is true for the Moxi Skates’ Impala wheels. Both Impala Skates and Moxi Skates are excellent for outdoor use since they have soft wheels (between 82A and 85A) with a wheel diameter of between 59mm and 65mm.

This indicates that the wheels will effortlessly and flawlessly fit into each other’s skates.

So the trick is, as long as they work with the skates, you are free to choose larger wheels.

Are impala quad skates good for outdoors?

Yes, impala quad skates are a good choice for outdoor skating for beginners.  The wheels on Impala Skates are also extremely homogeneous. The wheel is typically 58mm by 32mm with an 82A urethane durometer.

This suggests that the wheels fit into the hybrid wheel category. The wheels on the Impala Skates are sufficiently sticky to easily move across uneven terrain.

Additionally, they provide sufficient traction to let a skater to navigate through polished surfaces safely.

Beginner-level wheels are on these skates. Skating outside, too, requires caution because the wheels could get caught in the wide pavement gaps. This is it’s important to put on a protective gear, no matter how easy skating is to you.

Are impala inline skates good for outdoors?

If you asked me I’d say that all inline skates were designed for the purpose of outdoor skating. Because why would you deprive yourself the wonderful experience of inline skates by skating with them indoors?

Impala inline skates are great for outdoors particularly if you are skating on concrete, asphalt, sidewalks, unpaved or even dirt/trail surfaces.

Due to the nature of the inline wheel design and less ground friction, inline skates are nearly always faster outside than quad skates.

Finally

I hope this blog did justice to whatever questions may have been lingering in your mind. Impala skates are a really great choice of skates especially for beginners.
